Not Nodding Off in New Mexico!
This is kind of a Sleepless in Seattle story, and before anyone here thinks I'm nuts, let me just say, I'm a normal girl, I have a normal and sane life, but I'm also a hopeless romantic. If you can help, after reading this, please send me an email.
I moved to the NE Heights section of Albuquerque at the very end of August (2007), and right after I had started a new job, a bowhunter came into the store where I work. I could tell he was attracted to me the minute he walked into the door, and, believe you me, the feeling was mutual. We were very busy that night, and he stared at me, with a lost-in-thought smile on his face the entire time he stood in that long line.
When he finally got to the counter, it was like he had been talking to me for years. He said he had just been elk-hunting, and he asked if I would come look at the elk rack he had on the back of his truck. I thought maybe he was a bit nutty, but there was something about him that I was really drawn to. I went outside and looked, and sure enough, there was a huge elk rack sitting on the back of his truck. I think his truck was white. He told me that he thought it might be a record, the size of the rack, that is. I don't know anything about that kind of thing, but I do know it WAS huge. He said it took him four hours to clean the head alone. He mentioned possibly selling it.
While we were talking, I had the strongest urge to just reach out and hug him. I don't know why, but I think, judging by the way he was looking at me, that it might have even been okay if I had, but, I was nervous about leaving my co-worker inside alone, especially since I had just started a new job, and I thought perhaps he might think I was a bit touched if I did that...........so, I stopped myself. I am now kicking myself in the butt. It felt like there might have been something special there, and he was trying hard to show me that he was really interested, but I couldn't respond. I think he didn't come back because he thought I wasn't interested, and shortly thereafter, my schedule changed.
Now, two months later, I can't stop thinking about him, and though I may be nuts for looking, I would like to ask if there is anyone out there who might know this guy, and could possibly pass on information to him. I am not going to ask for personal information, if you do know him.
My elk-hunter guy has very long hair, blondish, almost down to his waist. When I saw him, he was wearing a red bandana. He is between 5'6" and 5'8" with a slim build. He has a light-colored truck, and as I said, in the beginning of September, there was a very large elk rack in the back of it.
If you think you might know this guy, or know of him, please, please drop me an email.
