Wild Boar Anyone???

Traveled South last weekend for our first elk academy seminar of the season coupled with a little pig hunting. Needless to say the weather was less than comfortable hitting temps over 110 degrees. We were able to get out late in the afternoons in order to set up before the pigs would head out for their evening water and feed.

Fortunately I was able to draw on a couple pigs with my bow however no luck! Cool thing about this trip had to do with my daughter coming along for what proved to be quite an adventure....

If you ever get the chance to pig hunt, get out there and I think I'm hooked, now off to the BBQ for some creative recipes!

Happy 4th

FYI - notice the 2nd picture to the right with a sow followed by her piglets...

Troy, that M2D camo sure does blend in great. A buddy and I hope to make it out hog hunting soon.

My eyes just aint what they used to be......
I need a spotting scope to see those pigs. Are you sure those aren't just sage rats?
I'll believe it when I've scored on some smoked pig hams. When will they be done?

No worries, a spotting scope and good camo coupled with a 300 Mag. should do the trick! We'll have to be careful you don't hit a cow.... Notice I did not say a sow... (hint hint)

Hams should be home soon - can't wait!

Maybe we could trade some pork for salmon???

Pig for Salmon sounds ok.
How bout we go get some more pigs!
Maybe wait until the weather cools down a bit.....
I don't do so good in the heat. That little red button would pop out at 105 degrees!

Later-
