Cool fire

I'm looking for a top of the line wind/water proof lighter.

Anyone know about a good one?

Hope you found one.. I wouldn't rely on just that though. Make sure you carry around waterproof strike anywhere matches too. Tons of them, just in case you're lost in the bush somewhere for a long while.

i suggest bringing a zippo and a flint/stryker out with u, thats what i usually pack, a zippo will work well but if the wik gets wet u can always pull out the cotton from inside and use the flint to ignite it, ive done that about 8 times. the cotton holds the fluid and if u fill it up before u head out it will keep the cotton flamable for a litle over two weeks even if its raining. i trust that over any lighter out in the field.

A big +1 to that! I routinely carry four or five different methods to get a fire going, whether matches, lighters, flints, etc etc. Mr. Murphy loves to mess with you afield!

I have a windproof lighter and always carry extra matches. You never know when you'll need to build a fire - I've been there, a few times

Thumbs up Waterproof Lighter

Cent-Wise in Redmond sells the coolest lighter I have ever seen! It is about 2 inches in diameter, full of butane and has a striker all screwed into one nice waterproof package. Tory the Mgr. showed us these for light weight survival gear when we conducted our Public Lands Elk seminars.

Check them out!

Call them if you are interested 541-548-4422

This past weekend I used a striker from supply depot and oldmans beard moss. Worked great. It's just to bad that when a fire is really needed, that moss is wet.
